Nestled outside of our nation's capital, just minutes from the University of Maryland, St. Theodore is the sole beacon of Greek Orthodoxy in Prince George's County
Striving to maintain Greek Orthodoxy the way it was meant to be, St. Theodore is a warm and welcoming spot for all with a desire to follow the earliest traditions of The Church. The most commonly used Divine Liturgy of the Orthodox Church was written by Saint John Chrysostom (347–407 A.D.)
The Greek Orthodox churches are descended from churches which the Apostles founded in the Balkans and the Middle East during the first century A.D., and they maintain many traditions practiced in the ancient Church.
